Trafalgar Square transformed into mock hospital ward for NHS Change Day 2014
Deputy Mayor of London Victoria Borwick heads campaign to raise awareness of health volunteering
Deputy Mayor of London Victoria Borwick serves tea in a pop-up hospital ward in the middle of Trafalgar Square as part of the run up to NHS Change Day in London.
NHS Change Day, supported by Team London and older people’s charity Royal Voluntary Service, is a national day of action on 3rd March during which staff, patients and anyone else who cares about their NHS can pledge to do one positive thing to make it better.
And, to mark the occasion, London’s iconic Trafalgar Square will be turned into a mock hospital – complete with beds, ‘patients’, volunteers and frontline NHS staff – to encourage Londoners to make an NHS Change Day pledge to “give up at least an hour of time volunteering to help their local health and care services”.
